Our founder, Alex Fitton, represents a rare breed in modern landscaping, combining hard skills with creative garden design.
The Bloom Legacy
Alex began his career at the pinnacle of British horticulture, Blooms of Bressingham. Mentored by world-class nurserymen during the company’s peak, he was part of the elite team behind multiple RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Gold Medal displays. Whilst giving plant advice at the Chelsea Flower Show, he impressed a representative of The Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society and was awarded a bursary.
After training formally in horticulture at BCA near Henley, Alex went on to design, build and maintain high-end gardens in the Ascot, Windsor, Maidenhead, Cookham and Henley area before moving to build Jeremy Bevan’s designs in North London.
In 2018, Alex acquired the celebrated Jeremy Bevan Gardens Ltd, inheriting Jeremy’s legendary eye for structural elegance and high specification London design.
In 2023, the acquisition of Flowers Galore and More Ltd integrated Maria Dallow’s esteemed business, built totally on personal recommendations. The company, created some 40 years ago, combined high-end garden design with specialist maintenance with exceptional seasonal planting.
25 Years of Hard Landscaping
While our soul is in the soil, our reputation is built on stone. For over 25 years, Alex has operated at the highest level of hard landscaping, building gardens in Berkshire before relocating to North London. This isn’t just about aesthetics; it is about the “invisible” quality—precision drainage, reinforced foundations, and expert masonry—that ensures a garden remains structurally sound for decades. This technical rigour led to our long-standing collaboration with The Benyon Estate in De Beauvoir Town, London, where we are trusted to deliver landscapes that respect both heritage architecture and modern urban living.

Today, these legacies have merged under a single banner of Alex Fitton Gardens Ltd.
Alex now coordinates a multidisciplinary team of Landscape Architects, Horticulturalists and Landscapers. By combining 25 years of hard-landscaping mastery with a Gold-Medal horticultural pedigree, we offer a seamless “Design-Build-Plant-Maintain” service.
Whether we are installing architectural stonework in Highgate, managing estate landscapes for The Benyon Estate, or curating a bespoke spring bulb display in Hampstead, we bring the same level of technical rigour and botanical passion to every square metre.
